OCS-Digital Video

Observational Coding  System-Digital Video products include Digital Video Record (OCS-DV-R), Digital Video Playback (OCS-DV-P) and OCS-DV-1394. These products represent an evolution to a more flexible and portable generation of research-oriented observational tools. Incorporating technologies such as IEEE 1394/Firewire and MPEG compression, OCS-DV products enable you to increase the rate speed in data collection and review while providing improved mobility and versatility in research design, implementation and reporting.

On-screen viewing of video reduces "look-away" coding errors, increasing the accuracy and speed of data collection.

• Synchronize coded events quickly while recording digital video files.


• Capture live video through your computer (requires 1394/firewire cord or capture card).


• Transfer files from hard disk to workstation or notebook, increasing the  mobility of coding process.


• Playback and edit codes, timestamps and descriptions in a dataset in stand-alone mode or while synchronized with the digital video recording. 


• Use filters to specify event codes, times and descriptions precisely useful when you want to focus on a small part of a large dataset.


• Create exportable video highlights using filter function.


• Bidirectional variable speed playback, including single frame advance. 


• Support for multiple file formats and recording media, including tape,  DVD and MPEG compression to disk.
